Conference: Climate Change – Feminist Action for Gender Justice
FOKUS and UN Women are co-hosting a conference on March 25th to discuss gender perspectives on climate change.

Background for the conference: The main theme for the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) in 2022 is “Achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls in the context of climate change, environmental and disaster risk reduction policies and programmes».
We want to take a closer look at gender perspectives on climate change. How are gender perspectives included in the work of governments, the private sector and civil society in a Norwegian, Nordic and international context?
How do we work to ensure actions to prevent climate change? How can gendered perspectives be better integrated into all aspects to provide broader and better solutions?
Outcome: FOKUS and UN Women want this conference to be a day of gaining new knowledge and insights and to get more in-depth on issues and perspectives that in general often lack the gendered perspectives. This is part of a year for us with feminist climate action for gender justice. We will follow up on a national and international level through more discussions, a report connected to Sustainable Development Goal 13 – Climate Action, action for targeted funding and inclusion, involvement and action at COP in Egypt in November.
Organizers: FOKUS – Forum for Women and Development, in cooperation with UN Women, Nordic Office. Funded by the Norwegian Ministry for Culture and Equality.
