MiRA Resource Center for Refugee and Immigrant Women

The MiRA Resource Center for immigrant and refugee women is a national, non-governmental and voluntary network organization. They are highly experienced in gender-equality and legal rights for women and young girls with minority backgrounds in Norway. The centre is politically independent and is not bound to specific religious or ethnic groups.

MiRA-Center is a key player in promoting sustainable integration of minority women in Norwegian society. The center has worked for over twenty-years to promote equality for immigrant and refugee women in Norway. As a national organization formed by and for minority women, MiRA-Center is one of its kind in the Nordic region.

MiRA-Center assists young girls and women with minority backgrounds on complex issues, particularly on acute situations involving social and legal complications. The MiRA-Center is open for visits and phone calls all week, between 09: 00 – 16: 00.  In addition, the MiRA Center holds an open-house every Wednesday from15: 00 – 19: 00, and weekly free legal advice from lawyers are available throughout the year.
